Why Does My Website Look Different on Other Screens

Submitted by Troy Benn on 04/22/2009

This is a pretty common question. The answer is quite simple: Every Screen is different.  Here at VisionLine Media we design websites so they can be seen properly by the greatest number of people.  98.9% of people today have a screen resolution of 1024×768 or higher. We design all of our Websites to accommodate people with this resolution or better. This is the internatiionally recognized standard for Website design.

Here is how this Website would look at 1024×768

What Browser Platform is Best?

Submitted by Jeff Kilroy on 04/22/2009

This is a pretty good question. There are many browser platforms available including: FireFox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome and more. It doesn’t really matter what platform you select (We suggest Chrome, IE or FireFox) as long as you are using an UPDATED VERSION. Outdated browsers such as IE6 & IE7 WILL NOT DISPLAY WEBSITES PROPERLY Internet Explorer 6 came out in 2001and was built for the Web standards of that time which are drastically different that today’s standards.

Buying a Computer

Submitted by Bryan Klugh on 04/02/2009

Because VisionLine Media does Web work, people often ask us what type of computer they should buy. I usually tell them that we don’t sell computers therefore we have no clue. I can tell you that we have had several horrible experiences with Dell. Both Dell machines we have owned have had problems right from the start. One machine even failed to get through the boot cycle the first time we fired it up!

Is My Email Down?

Submitted by Bryan Klugh on 04/02/2009

If we had a nickle for every time we get this question we would be millionaires.

I can tell you that in 99% of all cases your email is not down at all but rather your internet or network connection went down or was interrupted.

This begs the question: How Do I Know if My Email is Down or Not?

(1) Can you get online and visit websites?

YES = Go to #2
NO = Your Connection to the Internet is Down

(2) Can you access your Mail Server Online by going to mail.yourdomainname.com?
